Blogger burnout - I am not a victim!

In the wake of the election, I saw a lot of bloggers up and disappear. Allah (see the comments section) is the most notable loss. A few Arizonans blinked out, and a few others. There's been a lot of discussion about what blogs are for and where the medium is going. A lot of people are really burned out. (I wonder if it isn't often because they tried reading and answering too much e-mail?)

As for me, I'm not going anywhere. I try to post somewhat regularly, just because I hate visiting a dormant blog. But I don't feel any compulsion. And I'm not blogging for a cause. No, I'm blogging because I have to have somewhere to put this stuff. I have to have some outlet for composition. I have to have somewhere to rant. If I can make that stuff public, mores the better. Certainly in the wake of Columbine, I had plenty to say, if only blogging had existed then.

So while others are dropping off the screen, I'm not going anywhere.
