I can't believe they haven't used this guy in commercials

From the "You learn something new every day" department comes this news, via Powerline, about Command Sergeant Major James R. Jordan of the 35th Signal Brigade, a 30-year Army man.

You might have heard of SarMajor Jordan's younger brother, Michael.

SarMajor???? What kind of jacked-up attempt at an abbreviation is that???? That's not even the proper zoomie abbreviation (which I could have forgiven from you.) CSM, friend. All army abbreviations are three letters (except a few general ranks, but they don't count,) and are always in all caps. For example, CPL, SGT, MAJ, 1SG.

It wasn't an attempt at an abbreviation, dear sir. It's an informal form of address. Just as one might call a Gunnery Sergeant 'Gunney,' one might call a Sergeant Major 'SarMajor.' Or so Tom Clancy has given me to believe.

Thats my sergeant major. No really, he's my brigade csm... True hero.
